Kazakh Permanent Representative to int?l organizations presented credentials to Director-General of UN Office in Vienna
ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM. Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to international organizations in Vienna Yerzhan Kazykhanov presented credentials to Antonio Maria Costa, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA?s press service.
After the ceremony the parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning interaction between Kazakhstan and international organizations in Vienna. Y. Kazykhanov noted that Kazakhstan fully supports the UN activity on combating organized crime, drug traffic and corruption. He informed Mr. Antonio Maria Costa of main provisions of the Kazakh President?s Address to the people of Kazakhstan ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity?.
Having emphasized a leading role of Kazakhstan in Central Asian region, Mr. Antonio Maria Costa welcomed the initiatives of Kazakhstan President on strengthening integration processes, taking joint measures on countering contemporary challenges and threats and rendering economic assistance to Afghanistan.
