Kazakh Permanent Representative to OSCE took part in session of OSCE Permanent Council

VIENNA. January 31. KAZINFORM Regular session of the OSCE Permanent Council was held in Vienna. Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg reported on the foreign political prospects of the Czech Republic?s EU chairmanship and appreciation of prospects of cooperation with the OSCE, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Permanent Representation to the OSCE.

Czechia, as the EU Chairman, intends to focus on four main directions of policy and security: Eastern partnership, West Balkans, energy security and transatlantic relations. The EU aspiration for close cooperation with the OSCE was also stressed. K. Schwarzenberg noted the importance of close cooperation between the EU and Central Asian countries within the frameworks of strengthening energy security. Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov complimented the prospects of the EU, promoted by the Czech Republic, especially in the Central Asian direction. The Kazakh side stands for beneficial cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest. Minister K. Schwarzenberg supported the importance of further development and extension of cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan. He complimented results of the recent visit of the Czech Deputy Foreign Minister to Astana.
