Kazakh Permanent Representative to UN Office in Geneva, UN Director General meet

Within the discussion the sides exchanged opinions on a wide range of issues of the activity of the UN and international organizations. In particular, issues on Kazakhstan?s participation in an activity of the UN Specialized Agencies, mechanisms of cooperation of the UN Office at Geneva with European and Asian regional organizations. A.Zhankuliyev told about political, economic and humanitarian cooperation of Kazakhstan with international organizations of the UN system. He paid special attention to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev?s initiative on strengthening of interethnic and interfaith concord in the country and in the world, which was implemented by the organization, and on holding of two Congresses of leaders of world and traditional religions in Astana in 2003 and 2006. In this connection there was expressed a hope for the UN support of Kazakhstan in holding of the third Congress, which will be in Astana in summer, 2009. S.Ordzhonikidze, in his turn, noted that support of this forum by outstanding religious and political figures of many states confirms our country's creation of its own model of interethnic and interfaith concord.
