Kazakh PM criticizes progress in rural healthcare project implementation

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov criticized government bodies and akimats for slow pace of implementation of “The modernization of rural healthcare” national project at the session of the Government on Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Government.

Addressing the session, Prime Minister Bektenov revealed 309 facilities were supposed to be built [under the national project] last year. However, in his words, preparation of documents began to drag, the healthcare ministry loosened control over the project and, as a result, timeframes for the commencement of facilities’ construction changed.

Olzhas Bektenov tasked to speed up the work on the national project focusing on each healthcare facility separately.

According to him, every step of the process from documents preparation, funding to commissioning should be monitored.

The Kazakh ministry of healthcare and akimats were charged to complete construction and commissioning of all healthcare facilities under the national project this year right on time.
