Kazakh PM instructs to control regulated prices

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held a meeting on the implementation of the President's instructions given at the government meeting as of February 14, 2014, primeminister.kz website informs.

Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need for clear and concrete measures to implement the instructions of the President.

In this regard, Akhmetov instructed authorized state agencies «to ensure strict realization of President's assignments in full».

Speaking about the adjustments of the national currency, Akhmetov noted the need to «ensure the stability of prices for basic foodstuffs and socially important goods, fuel, medicines and prevent shortages of products and unjustified growth of tariffs for monopolists».

Prime Minister announced the decision to provide regional flour manufacturers with food grain at fixed prices.

In addition, Akhmetov instructed "Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning together with Agency on regulation of natural monopolies and interested government agencies to develop a set of measures to determine the policy in regulated prices and tariffs sphere".The Prime Minister also touched upon the issue of the Common Retirement Fund (CRF).

"CRF has been created by the cabinet decision. Currently we are actively working on transferring pension savings to it. I ask the National Bank to speed up this process so that CFR has already started to work effectively. Moreover, it is necessary to inform people about this work," S. Akhmetov said.

As is known, the President instructed to allocate $1 trillion tenge from the National Fund in the period 2014-2015 to ensure the growth of the economy. In this regard, the Prime Minister instructed the authorized state agencies to "develop a concrete mechanism for financing priority programs of industrialization, projects of manufacturing industry, small and medium-sized businesses crediting."

In order to simplify administrative procedures in the field of entrepreneurship Akhmetov ordered to audit all legal acts regulating the business environment before June 1 of the current year.

Prime Minister also ordered to revise "existing conditions for attracting investments into the country".

Drawing the attention of the Government to the importance of exploration, Akhmetov instructed the Ministry of Information and New Technologies and Oil and Gas Ministry to propose the creation of a separate supervisory agency. "Overall, the enlarged Cabinet meeting with the participation of the President will result in signing an appropriate protocol where specific executives and periods are identified", concluded Akhmetov.
