Kazakh PM Smailov meets with 4th Asian Para Games medalists

 Prime minister Alikhan Smailov of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the medalists of the 4th Asian Para Games held on October 22-28 in China’s Hangzhou, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

The Kazakhstani team represented by 131 athletes in 14 sports took 11th place among 44 countries on the 4th Asian Para Games medal standings with overall eight gold, 12 silver, and 21 bronze medals.

Your dedication and unwavering spirit inspire millions of people to overcome any life challenges and achieve success. Your triumphal performance demonstrated human’s limitless power. For the growing generation, the life of each of you is the example of mastery, courage and perseverance that lead to high sports achievements, said the Kazakh Prime minister, while reading out the letter of appreciation from Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and congratulated the Kazakhstani para athletes with the high results at the Games.

Smailov also expressed gratitude to the coaches and trainers of the medalists of the 4th Asian Para Games.

All of you fought with the truly Olympic attitude of winning. Today’s success at the Games is a serious claim for success at next Olympic games, he said.

Attending the meeting were Asian games gold medalists David Degtyarev, Nurdaulet Zhumagali, Dias Kenzhebek, Akmaral Nauatbek, Yergali Shamei, Olzhas Orazalyuly, and Dastan Mukashbekov.

Para judo gold winner Akmaral Nauatbek noted that the Asian Games were the great challenge ahead of the Paralympic Games for Kazakhstani athletes.

I can say on behalf of all athletes with confidence that we’ll prepare properly for the upcoming Paralympic Games and make the country cheer, she said.
