Kazakh PM spoke to his Kyrgyz counterpart over Bystrotok water channel

ASTANA. July 17. KAZINFORM Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Zhantoro Satybaldiyev have talked over the phone, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh PM's website.

The parties discussed the current issues of cooperation, in particular, the situation at the interstate water channel "Bystrotok".

Akhmetov urged the Kyrgyz side to resume water supply through the cross-border channel. Because of the shutdown of this channel residents of border areas of Zhambyl region were left without water for more than a week.

The prime ministers expressed their willingness to engage in dialogue on resolving the situation.
