Kazakh PM takes part in 10th ECO Summit in Tehran
TEHRAN. March 11. KAZINFORM. /Yernur Akanbai/ Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov is taking part in the 10th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization that started work in the capital of Iran Wednesday.
Presidents of Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan as well as Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Senate Speaker take part in the forum.
The issues of economic crisis, achievements of the organization?s member states since the previous summit, working prospects aimed at maintaining stability in various sectors will be discussed at the Summit. Later the heads of the states and governments will hold a sitting.
ECO will also present awards on the occasion of the Summit. In addition, the member states will issue a special postage stamp to mark the 10th ECO Summit.
Kazakh Premier is planned to have a number of bilateral meetings with presidents of Turkey, Turkmenistan and Iran within the Summit.
The Kazakh delegation consists of Chairman of the National Bank G. Marchenko, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister S. Mynbayev, Transport and Communications Minister A. Kussainov, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs N. Yermekbayev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iran Yerik Utembayev.
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is an intergovernmental international organization involving ten Asian nations. It was founded by Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. Kazakhstan joined the organization in 1992.
