Kazakh PM tasks to reconsider Baiterek policy for supporting domestic producers

Kazakh Prime Minster Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the board of the Baiterek National Management Holding JSC.

Those present discussed the implementation of the investment policy requirements in 2023. The affiliated subsidiaries of the holding backed enterprises of the non-resource sectors by channeling 2.8 trillion tenge which is 45% compared to the previous year. 71,000 companies and enterprises not affiliated with the quasi-public sector up to 2.5 trillion tenge. total amount of financing of the agro-industrial sector in 2023 reached 665.2 billion tenge. Support measures created over 6,000 new jobs, and produced and provided services worth 3.8 trillion tenge.

Following the meeting the Prime Minister stressed the need to rewrite procurement rules of the holding to increase the share of domestic goods. Besides, the enterprises that receive state support should constantly boost intrastate value.
