Kazakh PM to open WCO Regional Training Center in Astana

ASTANA. December 14. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Opening ceremony of the WCO Regional Training Center with participation of Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya has been held in Astana today.

"The world financial and economic crisis witnessed once more time that the regional cooperation, simplification of trade between the regional countries is the key of successful development of our economies", K.Massimov said.

As the Kazakh Premier noted, we also should hinder the illicit movement of goods, drug trafficking and contraband transporting through our borders.

According to K.Mikuriya, opening of the WCO Regional Training Center is an important event for the Organization that will contribute to the strengthening of regional structures and interaction in the field of customs personnel training in Central Asian region.

Opening of the Training Center in Kazakhstan will create conditions for conduction of seminars, sessions, conferences and lectures with introduction of world standards of training of the customs personnel and other controlling departments of Central Asian countries.
