Kazakh Premier charged to address problem of shortage of kindergartens

ASTANA. November 16. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ At the Government's telephone conference Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has charged the Minister of Education and Science to address the problem of shortage of kindergartens.

He urged the Minister together with the regional governors and akims to study existing opportunities, survey public facilities where new kindergartens can be opened.

Earlier at the sitting Minister Zhanseit Tuimebayev informed that only 36.5% of children get preschool education. 1,831 kindergartens including 205 private ones operate in Kazakhstan. There are 240,000 children in queue for preschool institutions. 580,000 are brought up at home.
