Kazakh President and British Premier get to Bolashak plant in Atyrau region

ASTANA. June 30. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and British Prime Minister David Cameron have arrived at Bolashak plant, which is in Atyrau region. As the Managing Director of "North Caspian Operating Company" Pierre Offan informs, today the company announces start of production facilities of the Kashagan field.

The President congratulated the members of the North-Caspian project with this important stage in the development of the giant Kashagan field.

"Preparation for launch of land and marine facilities, which began in 2012, was in continuous progress and at a good pace. Today we are celebrating completion of an important stage, we were looking forward to: beginning of production facilities, that means their phased commissioning. This is the achievement we can all be proud of, that marks a strong start and continued growth of commercial oil production. It should be noted that throughout this difficult process our priority has always been safety, " said P.Offan.

It should be reminded that at "Bolashak" there will be dehydration and stabilization of oil that will come during the pilot development of the Kashagan field via pipelines laid on the seabed. Construction of the plant started in the framework of the North-Caspian project in 2005. Total project cost is about $ 4 billion. The construction works employed more than 20 thousand people.
