ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State presented the new Akim of the region Amandyk Batalov, whose candidacy was agreed by deputies of the regional Maslikhat, Akorda reported.

President gave a number of specific instructions to the new leadership. In particular, he noted that it is necessary to achieve equal development across the region. "Production in the region will decrease if all districts develop unequally. The region is heavily subsidized, so you need to gradually reduce the level of support and search for sources of the budget revenues by yourselves", said Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kazakhstan President also stressed the importance of systematic work in the field of agriculture and made special emphasis on providing farmers with unused land. "The region has about half a million hectares of irrigated land, which amounts to 45% of all irrigated areas of Kazakhstan. You should harvest 10-12 times higher-than-normal. There are also questions about the irrational use of water resources", he said. In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to intensify efforts in water supply to settlements, preschool education and tourism development. At the end President of Kazakhstan said that the main objectives for all regions are stability, socio-economic development and welfare of the population.
