Kazakh President mourns death of writer Gerold Belger
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent a telegram of condolences to the family of a well-known writer Gerold Belger on the occasion of his untimely death, the president's press service reports.
President Nazarbayev expressed his condolences and noted that it is with deep sorrow that he found out about Belger's passing. "Gerold Belger's life was filled with selfless love to Kazakhstan and it was the example of true patriotism. His artistic legacy has become a priceless asset of our culture," Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed in the telegram. In the message, the Head of State also pointed out that Gerold Belger received state awards for his merits and was the laureate of the Presidential Peace and Spiritual Accord Prize. "He will always be remembered by people of Kazakhstan," the message reads. Gerold Belger passed away aged 81.
