Kazakh President received Majilis Speaker

ASTANA. April 23. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Speaker of the Majilis, First Deputy Chairman of "Nur Otan" People's Democratic Party Nurlan Nigmatulin, the Presidential press service reports.

Nigmatulin told about the first results of work of the Majilis of the Parliament of the 5th convocation. In particular, the Majilis held 11 plenary meetings, passed 57 bills; 18 of them were approved and sent to the Senate.

"Most part of the bills ensures the implementation of the President's Address to the people of Kazakhstan on the socio-economic modernization of the country. In 2012 the Majilis is planning to consider 42 bills. We conduct regular government hours, visiting sessions, joint meetings of the Committees of the Majilis. Members of Parliament held in the regions about 1500 meetings to explain the President's Address," the Chairman of the Majilis said.

In addition, Nigmatulin told about the work of Nur Otan Party in inter-election period.
