Kazakh President receives National Bank's Marchenko

ASTANA. December 3. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko on Saturday.

Marchenko told about the current situation in the financial sector, particularly in the current market.

"The situation in the foreign exchange market is very quiet. In November of this year we purchased 100 million U.S. dollars. So far the National Fund assets make up USD 43.5 billion, the gold assets of the National Bank - USD 32.5 billion. The country's net gold and foreign exchange reserves make up USD 75 billion. Since January 1, 2012 all gold produced in Kazakhstan will be purchased by the National Bank. The country's balance of payments situation is very good. The balance of payments surplus for the third quarter is positive," the Chairman said.
