Kazakh President receives Senate Speaker

The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, received Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Akorda press service.

The latter reported on the results of the Senate regulatory support of reforms over the past years and plans for the coming period. He said the key priority of the Senate’s work is to develop the tasks of the Heads of State aimed at further development of the country and regions.

Laws on women’s rights and children’s security, healthcare, transfer pricing, population migration, communications and digitalization, science and education were submitted to the Senate, while 10 draft laws initiated by the Senate were submitted to the Majilis.

This year will consider the Budget, Construction, Water, Tax and Digital Codes, and draft laws on Public Procurement, On Mass Media, and On Heat Power Industry.

Ashimbayev also reported on the activities of the parliamentary commission for monitoring the development of national sustainable development goals and tasks, and the secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
