Kazakh President to speak on Afghanistan at NATO Summit
LISBON. November 20. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will speak at the sitting of the NATO Summit on the issues of further settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
In addition to 28 Heads of State and Government of NATO member countries the event will be attended by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the President of the EU Council Herman Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, representatives of the World Bank, Japan and partner states.
Two major decisions are planned to be made during the sitting. They refer to handing over the overall responsibility for security to the Afghans till the end of 2014 and establishment of long-term partnership between NATO and Afghanistan.
