Kazakh President Tokayev, US Senator Steve Daines discuss global and regional security

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with US Senator Steve Daines, during which the high dynamics of Kazakh-US cooperation were noted, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.

The Head of State of Kazakhstan said that parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in international relations between Kazakhstan and the US.

The meeting saw an exchange of views on trade and economic interaction. The Kazakh leader stressed that the country pays great attention to the attraction of investments, liberalization of economy and industrial development.

According to Tokayev, the key areas of Kazakh-US bilateral interaction are energy, mineral exploration and processing, infrastructure modernization, and so on.

During the meeting, special attention was attached to the international and regional security.

In this regard, the President noted that Kazakhstan is one of the first countries to strongly condemn the brutal terrorist attack in Moscow and expressed solidarity with Russia.

According to him, all countries need to join efforts within a major international coalition to fight terrorism despite contradictions in relations between each other. Kazakhstan stands ready to contribute to this deed.
