Kazakh Prime Minister held telephone conference on preparation for spring floods
ASTANA. March 18. KAZINFORM Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held a telephone conference on the issues of preparation for spring floods.
"Floods have not yet reached their peak. There is a threat of flooding across the country, particularly in the eastern and central regions. Flood hazard remains in the southern regions, as well," Akhmetov said.
The head of the Government urged the Ministry of Emergency Situations, akims of the regions, mayors of Astana and Almaty and other interested bodies to arrange round the clock monitoring of the flood situation in the country, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz.
In addition, the Prime Minister charged "to mobilize all the equipment, step up efforts to remove snow, conduct clean-up events."
First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev was instructed to coordinate the work and timely inform on the progress of its implementation.
