Kazakh Prime Minister visits Kostanay region

KOSTANAY REGION. January 31. KAZINFORM /Petr Plakhotnikov/ Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov started his working visit to Kostanay region. He will attend Sokolovsky open pit of ?Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining-production association? JSC, Kazinform repots.

Director of the Sarbaisky mine group briefed the Premier on the work of the enterprise that deals with open mining of iron ore. He said that investments for 2009 is up to USD 40 mln ? the funds will be allocated for the construction of the South mine group. The Head of the Government displayed interest in the personnel policy of the enterprise. President of the Association Mukhamedzhan Turdakhunov said that none of employees would be fired. In connection with decrease in production the redundant employees are directed to mine groups and other productions of the enterprise. The Premier has also attended observation site where he watched holding of blasting operations in the open pit. He will survey construction sites of the rolling mill and new power supply unit of the Thermal Power Plant of the Association.
