"This year the GDP volume will amount to USD 13 thousand per capita. For example, some of the developed countries boast the rate of USD 25-30 thousand per capita. With our current GDP volume we are equal to Mexico, the Czech Republic and countries of eastern Europe," Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting at Karaganda administration.

"Kazakhstan has joined the club of 30 most developed countries in the world," the Head of State reminded. "However, this is only the beginning."

President also announced over the years of independence Kazakhstan had attracted USD 170 billion of direct foreign investments.

"We are on the threshold of entering the WTO. Our products and local enterprises should be competitive to withstand the competition at the world market," he added.
