Kazakh rescuers join search operations in quake-stricken province in Afghanistan
The Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry’s crew arrived at night at the quake-hit Herat province of Afghanistan and joined rescue and search operations in Naibrofi some 25-30 km away from the city of Herat, Kazinform Agency refers to the ministry’s press service.
This area is regarded as the most complicated as many people are still missing.
The Herat authorities expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for help.
As earlier reported, 45 staff members of the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry left for Herat province to join search and rescue efforts. On October the first batch of humanitarian aid was sent to Afghanistan.
