Kazakh, Russian Presidents discussed realization prospects of Joint Action Plan for 2011-2012

MOSCOW. March 17. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia have discussed the prospects of realization of the Joint Action Plan of Kazakhstan and Russia for 2011-2012 in Moscow today.

As the Presidential press service informs, the Leaders talked about the realization of the Joint Action Plan of Kazakhstan and Russia for 2011-2012 including strategically important projects such as construction of a road corridor 'Western Europe - Western China', joint use of the Baikonur space center, construction of the Kazakh-Russian space rocket complex 'Baiterek', creation and launch of KazSat-2 satellite, etc.

The Heads of State emphasized that the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership were developing systematically. Thus, the trade turnover had increased by 27.8 percent in 2010 and made USD 15.8 million. It means that the economies of both countries are approaching the pre-crisis level and the growth of mutual cooperation is very dynamic.

As D. Medvedev said, Kazakhstan was the main trade and economic partner, good neighbor and strategic ally.

Besides, the Presidents discussed the issues of development of the Customs Union, formation of the legal framework of the Single Economic Space of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus the establishment of which is planned for 2012.
