Kazakh Sec of State meets with Maldives FM

ASTANA. April 2. KAZINFORM. /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Kazakh Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev has met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Ahmed Shaheed in Akorda residence today.

During a conversation with the visitant, K. Saudabayev noted that the Maldives could adhere to the implementation of the Kazakh President?s initiatives: the CICA and Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions which are well-known and recognized worldwide. ?I think that this will bring together our countries in the field of bilateral cooperation?, highlighted the Secretary of State. K. Saudabayev also noted that Kazakhstan is interested in development of bilateral relations with the Maldives in the spheres of oil products transportation, tourism as well as trade-economic sector. A. Shaheed emphasized in his turn that the Maldives is also interested in widening relations with Kazakhstan. As is known, the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 15, 2000.
