Kazakh Secretary of State, UNDP Administrator eye future cooperation

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova has met today with Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Helen Clark within the framework of the 8th Astana Economic Forum in the Kazakh capital.

At the meeting the sides debated key directions of mutually beneficial cooperation as well as prospects of its expansion in the conditions of Kazakhstan's sustainable socioeconomic development. Secretary of State Abdykalikova commended partnership relations between Kazakhstan and the UNDP and thanked Helen Clark for technical assistance in implementation of important projects called to decrease poverty and unemployment, maternal and infant mortality, increase sustainable development, gender equality and fight on corruption and improve environmental situation in Kazakhstan. Ms Abdykalikova also expressed confidence that the new Kazakhstan-UNDP Partnership Framework for 2016-2020 will help Kazakhstan achieve its goals outlined in the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy, the new economic policy "Nurly zhol - Path to the Future" and 5 institutional reforms initiated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
