Kazakh Senate's committee debates bill on gambling

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Members of the Senate's Committee for economic policy, innovative development and entrepreneurship have given consideration to the draft law "On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of gambling industry" today.

Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly who introduced the bill at the extended session of the committee said ‘the online gambling and Internet casinos are now prohibited under the Civil Procedure Code'.

According to Minister Mukhamediuly, the draft law includes significant amendments and sets new requirements to minimum number of gambling tables, gaming machines at casinos, a set of restrictions for betting offices and more.
