Kazakh Senate Speaker and Swiss Ambassador debate coop issues

Kazakh Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Switzerland to Kazakhstan Salman Bal to debate further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, Kazinform News Agency cites the Senate’s press service.

The speaker congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his mission in Kazakhstan and noted that Switzerland is one of the important political and economic partners of Kazakhstan in Europe. He stressed the need to speed up interparliamentary relations within international organizations.

He also noted for the past 30 years of diplomatic relations the countries developed joint projects and bilateral cooperation programs. Ashimbayev also thanked Switzerland for its active support and significant contribution to achieving the goals of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions bringing together spiritual leaders and heads of international religious organizations.

In his turn, the ambassador highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s sociopolitical transformations and expressed interest in further widening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland.
