Kazakh Senate Speaker meets with OSCE PA Chairman

ANA. November 10. KAZINFORM. Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, Vice Speaker of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares who arrived in Kazakhstan with a working visit; Kazinform refers to the Senate's press service.

The parties exchanged opinions on the agenda of the oncoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE. K. Tokayev thanked Mr. Soares for the Assembly's support of Kazakhstan's candidature to chair the OSCE.  

"We are glad to see Kazakhstan's professionalism, readiness and confidence in successful implementation of this important mission", J. Soares said. He considers that active preparation for the mission would help achieve success not only in the spheres of security, cooperation, economic development and environment but in the development of the "third basket" on human rights.

The parties considered an opportunity of holding a parliamentary conference on the problems of security and cooperation in Eurasia in Kazakhstan in 2010.

Mr. Soares wished success to Kazakhstan during its chairmanship in the OSCE.
