Kazakh Senate Vice Speaker meets with Indian delegation
ASTANA. January 21. KAZINFORM Today Vice Speaker of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Mukhambet Kopeyev has met with Indian delegation, headed by Vice President of the Institute for Strategic Studies named after Indira Gandhi Kirit Parikh, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Senate.
Within the meeting the sides noted dynamics of the development of Kazakh-Indian relationships, gaining sustainable and comprehensive character.
M.Kopeyev expressed condolences to India upon terrorist attacks in Mumbai and stressed that Kazakhstan condemned that act and stood for extension of global cooperation in the struggle against terrorism.
He also complimented the support of India in promotion of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, initiated by Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev.
Concerning the issues of further strengthening of bilateral contacts, M.Kopeyev stressed the importance of activation of cooperation on the interparliamentary level.
The head of the Indian delegation noted that the achieved level of bilateral cooperation allowed to develop contacts in the sphere of economy, culture, education and healthcare.
According to him, the Indian side is ready for further cooperation in the spheres of bio- and nanotechnologies, informational and pharmaceutical sectors. K.Parikh also noted that the Indian Government makes a point of the oncoming visit of Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev in India.
