Kazakh senators OK agreement with China on emergency management
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Senate, the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, has adopted the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the sphere of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations" at the plenary session today.
According to Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs Kalmukhanbet Kassymov, who introduced the bill, the agreement was signed on May 28, 2014 in Astana. "Given that there are emergency situations that cannot be controlled with own resources and manpower, Kazakhstan and China inked the present agreement. It will promote better organization of coordinated efforts in case of occurrence of emergency situations on the territory of one of the Parties," Minister Kassymov said. In his words, by ratifying the agreement, Kazakhstan will be able to exchange experience in the sphere of monitoring and forecast of emergency situations and more.
