Kazakh senators pass bill on gambling

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstani senators have approved in the first reading the bill "On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of gambling industry" today.

"The online gambling and Internet casinos are now prohibited under the Civil Procedure Code," said Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, introducing the draft law at the Senate's plenary session on Thursday. According to Minister Mukhamediuly, the bill includes significant amendments and sets new requirements to minimum number of gambling tables, gaming machines at casinos, a set of restrictions for betting offices and more.
