Kazakh skier impresses at Sochi Paralympics
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today, Kazakhstani athletes have competed in three disciplines at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Kazinform correspondent reports.
Unfortunately, Zhanyl Baltabayeva did not pass the women's 1km sprint qualification, sitting. Out of 23 athletes competing in the event, she was ranked 23rd with the result of 3 minutes 35.74 seconds. Yelena Mazurenko from Kazakhstan also failed to qualify for the women's 1 km sprint free, standing. Among 17 athletes in that discipline, she finished 16th. Alexandr Kolyadin and Yerlan Omarov were 33rd and 35th in the men's 1 km sprint free qualification. It was Kairat Kanafin who impressed in the men's sprint free qualification. He managed to cover the distance in 4 minutes 30.84 seconds and finished 13th.
