Kazakh Speaker to participate in 130th IPU Assembly
ASTANA. KAZINFORM A delegation of the parliament members of Kazakhstan, led by Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin, will attend the 130th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on March 17-20, the press service of the Majilis reports.
The high-level parliamentary event opens in Geneva today to debate "The IPU at 125: Renewing our commitment to peace and democracy". Nigmatulin is expected to meet with heads of the delegations of other IPU member states, including Chairman of the House of the People of Afghanistan Abdul Rouf Ibrahimi, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq,President of the National Council of Switzerland Ruedi Lustenberger and Head of the Council of States of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland Hannes Germann.
