Kazakh student ranks among Top 5 web developers at WorldSkills Lyon 2024
The 47th WorldSkills Competition featuring young competitors from around the world was held September 10-15 in France, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Kazakh Science and Higher Education Ministry.
It brought together 1,500 young skilled talents from 69 countries and 30 international experts in 30 competencies. The WorldSkills Competition is called to support young competitors from every corner of the world, promote vocational training, and attract youth in technologies, engineering, construction, and IT.
32 Kazakh students defended the country’s colors at the competition this year. Notably, Ruslan Yussupov, a student of the West Kazakhstan Innovations and Technologies University, took fourth place in the Web Technologies competition. Seungbeen Shin of South Korea took a gold medal, followed by Olivér Mrakovics of Hungary and Zechariah Shen Wei Tan of Singapore.
As earlier reported, Daniyar Abikenov, a Kostanay Highway Transport College student, also won a Medallion for Excellence in the IT Network Systems Administration at the WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
Students from Kazakhstan competed in 30 skill areas to add seven Medallions of Excellence to the country’s tally.
