TANA. November 5. KAZINFORM Sheikh Absattar Hajji Derbisali, Chairman of the Central Asian Council of Muftis, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Kazakhstan Muslims, Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, has congratulated the Muslims of Kazakhstan on Eid al-Adha.

"Dear Kazakhstanis, brothers and sisters!

On behalf of the Spiritual Administration of Kazakhstan Muslims and on my own behalf congratulate you on the holy festival of Muslims, Qurban Ayt, and the historic milestone - the 20th anniversary of independence of our country!

Eid al-Adha or "Festival of Sacrifice" is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims from around the world. This ritual symbolizes our gratitude to Allah Almighty, the act of making atonement.

Qurban Ayt is one of the greatest holidays of the Islamic world. The holiday embodies care of relatives and compassion to the people in need. It is a tradition to wake up early, put on the best clothes, be friendly and visit parents, elders and sick relatives and remember the dead with prayers on these days. I call on you to attend prayers to understand the joy of this magnificent moment.

May Almighty Allah grant us peace and joy, happiness and health, success and wellbeing, charity and prosperity," the message reads.
