Kazakh team leaves for 2025 FISU Winter World University Games
The 2025 FISU Winter World University Games will be held in Torino, Italy, from January 13 to 23, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov, Director General of the National Scientific Center for Physical Culture Arman Tashmetov, and mass media representatives saw the athletes off at the Astana Airport.
The national ice hockey team was the first to leave for Torino on the night of January 9. Among the team members is Abylaikhan Suleimenov, who will bear the State Flag of Kazakhstan at the Games’ opening ceremony.
16 skiers and 5 para skiers also departed to Italy on the night on January 10.
As reported, 103 Kazakh students will compete in the 2025 Winter University Games in Torino.
