Kazakh team wins 10 medals on 2nd day of 11th Asian Age-Group Swimming Championships

Kazakh team clinched 10 medals on the second day of the 11th Asian Age-Group Swimming Championships which began in Tarlac, the Philippines, on February 27, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

Adilbek Mussin claimed gold in the men’s 100m butterfly event in Group A. In the same group, Kazakhstan's Adelaida Pchelintseva and Sofia Spodarenko won gold in the women’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 100 м butterfly, respectively. Diana Taszhanova settled for silver in the women’s 1500m freestyle event.

As for Group B, Arssen Kozhakhmetov clinched gold in the boy’s 50m breaststroke event. Gold went to Sofia Abubakirova and Maxim Skazobtsov of Kazakhstan in the girl’ 50m freestyle and  the boy’s 100m butterfly events, accordingly.

Boy’s team of Yegor Popov, Arssen Kozhakhmetov, Maxim Skazobtsov, and Daniil Cherepanov scooped gold in the 4x100m medley relay.

Daniil Cherepanov also swam to silver in the 50m freestyle event.

Kazakhstani divers Diana Zhumagulova and Anabella Kochkina outperformed their competitors in the girl’s synchro board level taking home gold in the Group A.

As reported earlier, on the first day of the championships, Team Kazakhstan captured 11 medals.

The championships will last until March 9.
