Kazakh Tourism predicts recovery of tourist flow from China to pre-pandemic levels in 2023

 The tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan is predicted to recover to pre-pandemic levels in 2023, Shyryn Mussina, head of the promotion department at Kazakh Tourism, said during the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market 2023 in Beijing, Kazinform Agency correspondent reports. 

The first half year of 2023 saw the tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan recover by 45%. It is predicted that the figure is to return to the pre-pandemic level by the end of this year, noted Mussina.

According to her, up to 88 thousand Chinese tourists visited Kazakhstan in 2019.

In 2024, further growth in tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan is predicted, she noted.

The Kazakh Tourism official added that the year 2024 was declared the Year of Kazakh Tourism in China. In the next year, a number of events in the tourism and culture sector, including info-tours, blog-tours, and others are planned.

25 representatives of Kazakhstan’s tourist sector are taking part in the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market 2023 (COTTM) taking part in Beijing from November 15 to 17.
