Kazakh Vice PM attends Ministerial Conference of OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme
The conference discussed the results of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme for 2012, measures to improve the competitiveness of the Eurasian countries, the progress of implementation of joint projects, as well as issues of cooperation and exchange of experience.
The conference noted the active position of Kazakhstan in the field of further strengthening of regional dialogue.
Following the meeting the Ministerial Conference adopted a Ministerial Declaration and program of work for 2013-2015. There was established the annual roundtable to enhance the competitiveness of the countries of Eurasia.
The roundtable aims to promote dialogue with colleagues, share best practices and analyze the implementation of reforms to improve competitiveness in the countries of Central Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. The first roundtable to raise the competitiveness of the countries of Eurasia is scheduled for October of this year.
The conference also decided to hold peer reviews of competitiveness policy. Peer reviews will be conducted by independent experts of the OECD, as well as representatives of other participating countries of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme.
