Kazakh violin soloist awarded Elgar's Fund gold disk

ALMATY. March 14. KAZINFORM Kazakh violinist Marat Bisengaliev awarded the gold disc for his contribution to the popularization of the great British composer Edward Elgar, Kazinform refers to the M.Bisengalieva Cultural Public Fund.

The Chevalier, Sir Richard Winter-Stanbridge will hand over the award to the famous musician on March 15 in the Kazakh Embassy in Paris.

Marat Bisengaliyev is a brilliant violin soloist and also the director of the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra and TuranAlem Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra and the head of the Uralsk International Violin Competition. He is currently the Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of India.

He was the prize winner at the Leipzig International Bach Competition in 1988, and in 1991 won first prize at the International Nicanor Zabaleta Competition in Spain , also receiving the special virtuoso prize for the most outstanding performance of the competition.

In 2000 Bisengaliev received the Independent "Platinum Tarlan" Award and the Government "Medal of Honour" in Kazakhstan.
