Kazakh youth chess team swept 2 gold and 1 bronze medals in Brazil
TANA. November 28. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The World Youth Chess Championship 2011 was held in Caldas Novas, state of Goiás, Brazil from 17 to 27 of November. It is a chess competition for girls and boys under the age of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18.
Kazakhstan's youth team grabbed 2 gold and 1 bronze medals, the announcement on the Kazakh Chess Federation's official webs-site reads.
"Our congratulations to our champions Bibisara Assaubayeva (under 8) and Zhansaya Abdumalik (under 12). Alibek Igambergenov (under 16) who won the bronze medal has accomplished a feat for our boys haven't won medals at the world forums for 13 years in a row," the message reads.
Chess players from 79 countries participated in the Brazil Championship.
