Kazakh yurt has been raised in a school of Dubai
Each year, the schools of British and American curriculum in the UAE conduct International Days, the activities that enable students with their parents beautifully and effectively represent the countries they come from.
The spacious lobby of the Ruffles International school located in Jumeirah district of Dubai the stands of thirty-six countries have been opened.
There are about twenty children of Kazakhstan are getting educated in Ruffles International school, most parents are working in foreign oil and gas companies in Dubai.
As noted by our correspondent, this year Kazakhstan citizens have made the event more considerable and orderly. For the first time in Dubai school a Kazakh yurt was raised, which had kindly been provided by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to the UAE. The model of nomads' house was specially brought from the Kazakhstan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and had been mounted in the school during the night time. Foreigners liked the yurt, they were interested in the rich decoration of the home, and they asked questions about the purpose of various items of Kazakh household activities. In addition, the Kazakh Embassy and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai gave a beautiful demonstration material: souvenirs, household items, national clothing, calendars and magazines.
Arman Dyusembayev, a representative of the Kazakhstan Parents' Committee in «Ruffles School» told Kazinform that in January the Directorate informed the parents of school students on "International Day" and asked to take part together in groups of countries, and prepare presentation material about the homeland.
The event has been intended to ensure that each student was able to learn more about the culture of their classmates. We decided to show other countries that in Kazakhstan there are things to be proud of and to show. There are a few European people knowing geography; everything that ends with "stan" is the same like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan ... We have tried to change their stereotypes about our country, which had been born by the image of Borat, and to show how rich is the culture of Kazakhstan.
Each student had a brochure with himself (herself), some kind of passport, to put a stamp of the country and record the basic information. The corner of Kazakhstan prepared by us made a good impression. It was nice to hear the delightful words after the demonstrating pictures of Astana, Almaty, Baikonur and Medeu.
Among other things the school organized Parade of Nations. Children in beautiful national costumes were carrying flags, and after the march there were dance performances and presentations in three exhibition halls.
The Kazakhs have fixed everything: they worked out a plan assigning the roles, prepared a national dance called Kamazhay and ordered T-shirts with our symbols. Besides that we asked our friends and families from Kazakhstan to pass candies, Kazi (from horsemeat), talkan (pounded wheat), national clothes and souvenirs. Wives, mothers and sisters have baked besbarmak, chak-chak, baursaks and samosa.
The guests to the Kazakhstan stand liked the dancing girls in camisoles (national costumes), a three-meter yurt, chapans (a Kazakh quilted dressing gown) on the parents. There was no getting rid of the people wishing to take pictures. We were going around and handed out the presentations of the cities and the nature of our country, and that after that the school principal personally thanked Kazakhstan for active participation.
The festival organizers thanked the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai for the support. "Together we have managed to represent the country on a small, but still the world stage," they emphasized. Separate "Thank you" was said to the most active participants of Kazakhstan like Erkebulanu Salk, Moldir Kayynbaeva, Andrey Kiselev, Shara Shakual, Farhad and Oyganym Isenalievs, Aynur Zhumadilaev, Aliya Zhunisbaeva, Banu Baltabekova, Dinara Zhumshkalieva, Didar Bekbulatov, Almat Abzhanov, Aceke and Aigul Khabibulins , Arman and Zulfiya Dyusembaevs.
