Kazakhstan adopts agr't on transfer of sentenced persons with Hungary
"The agreement between Kazakhstan and Hungary on transfer of sentenced persons was signed on 3 July last year in the city of Budapest during Kazakhstan Prime Minister's official visit to Hungary. It regulates the issues related to the possibility of transfer of convicts between the two countries to serve the sentence of imprisonment in a home country of the sentenced person. According to the agreement, convicted person may be transferred if: a convicted person is a citizen of the destination country," said Johann Merkel, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presenting the bill. Mr.Merkel noted that transfer of a convicted person may be rejected if: either party decides that the transfer would cause prejudice sovereignty, security, public order, or national legislation; a person is convicted for an offense that encroaches on national security, and the convicted person is prosecuted for any other criminal, civil or administrative offense.
