Kazakhstan Agency for Competition Protection took part in International Legal Forum in London

ASTANA. April 10. KAZINFORM A group of representatives of the Competition Protection Agency lead by its Chairman M. Yessenbayev took part in the II International LawForum «EuroLawyer 2009» held in London on April 2-3, Kazinform reports.

The forum brought together the representatives of anti-monopoly bodies from 20 CIS and the EU countries and around 200 top-managers of the leading consulting companies. A wide range of international and national legal issues including the latest tendencies in anti-monopoly practice was on the agenda of the forum. In his speech Mr. Yessenbayev said the Competition Protection Agency had been established in October 2007 in accordance with the President?s Decree. The Chairman of the Agency told about the anti-monopoly work in the country and focused on the main provisions of the Law ?On competition? developed for realization of the President?s Address to the Nation which entered into force on January 1 of the current year. M. Yessenbayev pointed out the aims of the Law ? provision of favorable conditions in Kazakhstan?s economy for further development of investment-business activity, stimulation of implementation of innovations and growth of investments as well as support of small and medium businesses.
