Kazakhstan and Belarus to develop projects on farming equipment delivery
ASTANA. February 25. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ Head of the Kazakh Government Karim Massimov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko have discussed the issues on delivery of farming equipment to Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.
?We pursued two aims when arrived in Kazakhstan. The first aim for us was to know how Kazakhstan face the global financial crisis?, V. Semashko said. ?The second one was to propose a number of services and goods beneficial both for Kazakhstan and Belarus. Our agriculture is export -oriented and we are ready to propose Kazakhstan our goods. In Soviet time we produced 16% of farming equipment for cultivation of basic grain crops, potatoes and sugar beet whereas today we produce 95% of all technical equipment?, the Vice Prime Minister noted.
Kazakhstan and Belarus agreed to produce a thousand ?Belarus? tractors per year. In view of the issue of financing the delivery of tractors to Kazakhstan has been terminated. Only 70 tractors amounted to USD 1 mln were delivered as of November, 1, 2008.
