Kazakhstan and Belgium to establish business council

BRUSSELS. October 26. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ At the initiative of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev the decision on establishment of business council has been made between Kazakhstan and Belgium. The Head of the State made it public after his meeting with Belgian Acting Prime Minister Yves Leterme in Brussels.

According to him, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Belgium and Kazakhstan seeking to expand trade and economic cooperation.

Mr. Leterme noted that the Kazakh President's visit took place two weeks later after the Kazakh-Belgian business forum in Astana with the participation of Belgium's Crown Prince Philippe. "As a result of that visit a number of documents on cooperation in the spheres of energy resources, nuclear energy, healthcare, infrastructure and environment was signed", he reminded.

The Head of the Belgian Government emphasized the stabilizing role of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and as OSCE Chair. He confirmed his participation in the OSCE Summit in Astana. "We hope the results of the Summit will allow to strengthen the OSCE activity within its three baskets", Mr. Leterme resumed.
