Kazakhstan and Brazil discussed bilateral cooperation

ASTANA. April 17. KAZINFORM Itamaraty Palace, headquarter of the Brazil Ministry of External Relations hosted regular political consultations on the issues on bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil.

According to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in the U.S., Kazakhstan was presented by Kazakh Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Umarov, Kazakh Ambassador to the U.S and to Brazil Yerlan Idrisov and the other official representatives. From Brazil Deputy Minister of External Relations Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis and the representatives of the foreign ministry and other bodies participated in the talks.

The participant exchanges views on bilateral cooperation development and the main regional and international issues. The sides unanimously noted positive dynamics of the interparliamentary contact at the top and the highest level for enlarging political dialogue and trade economic cooperation.

Brazil welcomed the official decision of Astana to open the  Kazakh Embassy in Brazil that will promote development of bilateral cooperation in different spheres.

The participant paid special attention to the political situation in the neighbor regions, geopolitical role of Brazil within the BRICS.

Besides, Kazakhstan's participation in the top level conference for sustainable development "Rio+20" scheduled for June 20-22, 2012 was discussed.

During the discussion, mutual understanding was reached on trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. As demonstrated by the meeting, Brazil is ready to expand cooperation in oil and gas, mining and agricultural industries. K.Umarov invited foreign leaders and relevant agencies to participate in the upcoming Astana Economic Forum on 22-24 May, 2012.
