Kazakhstan and China hold "Golden Bridge to Green Cooperation" forum in Beijing

The Kazakhstan-China forum of trade and economic cooperation "Golden Bridge to Green Cooperation" was held on Saturday as part of the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing, Kazinform News Agency reports.

As highlighted by Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev, there is a strong collaborative effort between Kazakhstan and China in the implementation of eco-friendly projects and the exchange of cutting-edge technologies.

He believes that a key element of sustainable trade corridor development is the transition to electric vehicles and the adoption of green technologies in freight transportation. Given the rapid advancement of electric vehicles in China, this sector presents a substantial opportunity to enhance environmental performance and boost the efficiency of transport corridors.

Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mansur Oshurbayev, stated that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Technology Transfer Center (SCO-TTC) on September 3, 2024 will facilitate the implementation of joint "green" projects and the exchange of advanced technologies between the two parties.

A total of 4,700 Kazakh-Chinese enterprises are currently operating in Kazakhstan. 2,800 companies from 78 countries, including China, are registered at the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC).

The National Pavilion of Kazakhstan has been opened within the framework of the CIFTIS exhibition, which is set to run at the China National Convention Center and the Shougang Park in Beijing between September 12-16 . The exhibition brought together over 450 of the world's top 500 enterprises, along with leading companies in various industries. The event features exhibition areas from 85 countries and international organizations.
