Kazakhstan and Cuba inked coop agr't

Following the results of the meeting, Aliya Galimova and Cuba's Minister of Higher Education Rodolfo Alarcon Ortiz signed a memo between the ministries on cooperation in education. Cuba is the first country in Latin America to sign such an agreement, the press release of the Kazakh Embassy in Canada reads. As part of the trip programme the Kazakh delegation also attended the IX international congress on higher education issues themed University 2014. It gathered 2 900 guests from 56 countries of the globe. The Kazakh executive secretary addressed the plenary session.
On the sidelines of the forum Galimova had talks with Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the First Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba , heads of foreign delegations, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth Androulla Vassiliou, and others.
